New Delhi: The 45th Senior National Throwball Championship, hosted by Throwball Association of Delhi, got off to a colourful start on Thursday (8th February) at Takshila Public School, Sector-11, Rohini, New Delhi. In the inaugural match, Delhi defeated Rajasthan in the men’s category.
The championship was inaugurated by Delhi Pradesh BJP President Virendra Sachdeva and MP Manoj Tiwari by releasing balloons and taking salute of the march past.
The guests were welcomed by Naresh Mann, General Secretary, Throwball Federation of India and Karm Singh Karma, Secretary, Throwball Association of Delhi felicitated them.
During the inauguration ceremony, the participating teams conducted an attractive march past to the tune of the school band. The entire school campus echoed with the sound of firecrackers.
In his address at the inauguration, Delhi Pradesh BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that in any match one team wins and the other team learns something from the defeat and tries to win in the next match. He said that if you are determined and work honestly, success will kiss your feet.
MP Manoj Tiwari said that all of you should always keep the faith in your mind that we will be successful one day. You all are the future of the country and you should always set your goals and work hard and move ahead.
On behalf of Throwball Association of Delhi, school chairperson Ritambhara Chauhan was specially honoured and on behalf of the organizing committee, gratitude was expressed to the entire school family for the cooperation. On this occasion, officials from all the states were honoured by the Throwball Association of Delhi.
Results: Delhi defeated Rajasthan 15-2, 15-2, Madhya Pradesh defeated Puducherry 15-0, 15-0.
