Patna: Nineteen players from Bihar who have been selected for the national rugby coaching camp to be held in in Kolkata from July 16 to August 4 met Bihar art, culture and youth department minister Jitendra Kumar Rai and Bihar State Sports Authority director general Raveendran Sankaran at Patliputra Sports Complex on Saturday.
Bihar minister Rai encouraged the players and asked them to produce their best for the Indian team. The 16th World Rugby Championship will be held in Pattaya (Thailand) from August 7 to August 13.
On the occasion, former Hockey India secretary and Bihar Olympic Association secretary Mohd. Mushtaq Ahmed, Liaquat Ali of Bihar Athletics Association, Kumar Vijay of Bihar Kabaddi Association, Karunesh Kumar, Secretary of Sepaktakraw, Vinay of Wrestling Association of Bihar extended their best wishes for a good performance in the World Championship.
Pankaj Jyoti of Rugby Union, Joint Secretary of Softball Rupak Kumar, Braj Kishore Sharma of Handball Association, Dharamveer Kumar of Soft Tennis, Bipin Kumar of Baseball, Pankaj Kambli of Karate Association and representatives of various sports associations of Bihar congratulated the players.
