- Civil aviation industry has been making steady advancements since 2017

Lucknow: Along with fulfilling the dreams of the common citizens for air travel, the Yogi government is also providing employment opportunities to the youth in the civil aviation sector, enabling them to soar high with their aspirations. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the aviation industry has been advancing steadily in the Yogi government since 2017.
Currently, three international airports are operational in Uttar Pradesh, and soon it will become a state with five international airports. Therefore, the youth here are finding employment opportunities rapidly. The young people already have jobs with various airlines. Looking back on the previous two years, 70 percent of the youth were able to successfully secure jobs with different airlines in 2021, and this number rose to 80 percent in 2022.
Aeronautical Training Institute provides three-year diploma training in various streams
The Aeronautical Training Institute, functioning under the Civil Aviation Department, is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, and National Board of Accreditation of the Government of India.
The institute offers a three-year diploma training in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) in Mechanical, Avionics, and Helicopter streams. Each course prepares 30 students per year for employment in airlines. Currently, 191 students are undergoing training here. The institute has a team of 12 instructors, and admission to the institute is done through the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh.
The students of the institute get placement opportunities in various airlines, including Air India, IndiGo, and Vistara. In the AME (Mechanical) stream, 18 students graduated in 2018, out of which 17 got placements. In 2019, this figure was 21 and 18. In 2020, 15 students passed, and 10 got placed. 14 out of 19 who passed in 2021 got placements. The numbers remained 21 and 18 in 2019, and 15 students graduated, with 10 getting placements in 2020. In 2021, out of 19 graduates, 14 received placements. Likewise, in 2021, 23 students graduated, and 19 of them received placements, while in 2022, out of 24 students, 20 secured placements.
In the AME (Helicopter) stream, 21 youths graduated in 2020, and 18 of them received placements. The figures were 23 and 13 in 2021, and in 2022, 17 youths graduated in this stream, with all of them securing placements.
Moreover, the overall placement percentage in the civil aviation sector has been quite impressive. As per the data, 90 percent of the youth received placement opportunities in 2018, 83 percent in 2019, 75 percent in 2020, and 70 and 80 percent in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
This remarkable placement track record demonstrates the success of the institute in preparing and guiding students toward promising careers in the aviation industry.
