- Students were informed about machines, coding, sensor technology and introduced to practical knowledge
Through hands-on experience, students were introduced to modern technologies. Impressively, the students showcased their newly acquired skills by creating advanced technical models, including an automatic light, a smart blind stick, a smart dustbin, and a fully functional rover drone.
One student to be selected from every school
Board Secretary and Chief Executive Officer Gazal Bhardwaj highlighted that the Atal Residential School initiative, a key project of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s, is dedicated to providing students with both quality and modern education. The program has already yielded impressive results. As part of the recent 15-day Utkrisht Atal Program, efforts were made to further enhance the students’ talents and skills.
Notably, there are plans to send the winners of the Space Art and Best Product Development Competition to ISRO, with one student being selected from each school for this unique opportunity.
Notably, Atal Residential Schools were established by the state government in all 18 divisions of Uttar Pradesh to offer quality education to the children of construction workers and those who lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Students to explore the universe with ISRO
Under the initiative “Exploring the Universe with ISRO,” students with a passion for science and technology were given a rare opportunity to delve into the mysteries of space. The program introduced students to the fundamental principles of space exploration, covering the history of astronomy and the intricacies of modern space missions.
Students were also trained to identify celestial bodies using telescopes, adding a hands-on experience to their learning.
A major highlight was ISRO’s Space Exhibition, where students explored India’s space journey through interactive exhibits, models, and presentations showcasing advanced space technology.
The program also included a Space Art Competition, where students expressed their visions of space through art. Additionally, ISRO experts conducted a Hydro Rocket Workshop, allowing students to build and launch hydro rockets, fostering creativity and a scientific mindset. This initiative not only heightened students’ interest in space science but also instilled a sense of pride in India’s remarkable space achievements.
Empowering students through hands-on technical education
With the aim of promoting technical education and innovation, a ‘Machine Nirman’ program was organized for the students as the second activity. In the first session of the program, the students were introduced to machines, basic principles of coding and sensor technologies. They were also given practical training on the basic principles of coding and controlling electronic components.
One of the highlights was the introduction to drone technology, accompanied by a hands-on drone flying activity, which generated significant excitement among the participants. In the second session, students engaged in experiential learning, constructing basic machine projects. They successfully developed technical projects such as automatic lights, smart blind sticks, smart dustbins, and even a full rover drone and impressed their teachers with their innovative models.
Guided by technical experts, the workshop provided students with an invaluable opportunity to acquire technical skills while also nurturing their creativity and problem-solving abilities. The program culminated with students presenting their projects, adding a meaningful dimension to their learning experience.
