Patna: YMCC emerged victorious in the Shivnandan Paswan Memorial Invitation T20 Cricket Tournament, held in honour of the late Shivnandan Paswan, former Bihar government minister and Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. The team secured the title by defeating Rising Star CC by a commanding margin of 106 runs in the final, thanks to a stellar century by Aditya and outstanding bowling performances from Suraj Kashyap, Sanjeet Kumar, and Gaurav Raj.
In the final match at Moinul Haq Stadium, Rising Star CC won the toss and elected to field first. YMCC faced early setbacks as openers Amit Kumar and captain Virat Pandey were dismissed for just one run each. However, Aditya’s magnificent century turned the tide, propelling YMCC to a formidable total of 190 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Aditya’s 106 off 61 balls, including 7 fours and 7 sixes, was the highlight of the innings. He was well-supported by Priyanshu Kumar (36), Rishabh Rakesh (19), and Suraj Kashyap, who remained unbeaten on 23. For Rising Star, Amit Gunjan, Govind Kumar, and Pankaj Kumar claimed one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 191, Rising Star’s batting line-up crumbled under pressure from YMCC’s bowlers. The team was bowled out for just 84 runs in 13.3 overs, with Agastya (20), Animesh Kumar (17), and Govind Kumar (14 not out) being the only notable contributors. Sanjeet Kumar, Suraj Kashyap, and Gaurav Raj were the chief destroyers, each picking up three wickets.
Aditya was named Man of the Match for his match-winning century, while Suraj Kashyap was awarded Man of the Tournament. Aditya also took home the prize for Best Batsman, and Gaurav Raj was recognised as the Best Bowler of the tournament.
The match was officiated by umpires Nitesh Kumar and Abhimanyu Kumar, with Priyanshu Raj serving as the scorer.
