Yash hits ton as Chhattisgarh score 309 against Bihar in Vijay Merchant Trophy

Patna: Chhattisgarh scored 309 runs in 87.2 overs in their first innings against Bihar on the first day of Vijay Merchant Trophy match at Railway Stadium in Vadodara on Friday. Chhttisgarh opener Yash Kumar Varda hit a magnificent century (150) to nullify Bihar attack. At the end of the day’s play Bihar were zero for one wicket.

Opener Dhananjay Kumar Singh returned to the pavilion without opening his account.  Earlier Bihar won the toss and decided to field first. Bihar bowlers did well till the beginning. Except Yash Kumar Varda, the rest of the batsmen were not allowed to stay on the wicket, but Yash Kumar single-handedly played an important role to take Chhattisgarh innings to a respectable 309. Yash Kumar Wardha scored 150 runs in 202 balls with the help of 22 fours and 1 six. Satyam Kumar took four wickets for 96 runs from Bihar.
