Patna: Very soon ball badminton players of Bettiah (West Champaran) will be provided with a coach by the state association so that they can get familiar with the finer points of the ball badminton game as well as ensure participation in state level and national level tournament, said Bihar State Ball Badminton Association secretary Gouri Shankar.
Gouri Shankar, who is also the joint secretary of Ball Badminton Federation of India, was in Bettiash for one-day tour. He said that there is no dearth of talent in the players of West Champaran, only they need proper guidance.
To popularise and develop ball badminton game in West Champaran, West Champaran District Ball Badminton Association was formed under the chairmanship of sports lover and educationist Mohd Nurain Khan. Md Nurain Khan has been elected as the president of West Champaran District Ball Badminton Association.
Other office-bearers are; Mohd Arshad Ali, Mohd Irshad Hussain, Mary Adeline (all vice presidents), Dr Jagmohan (secretary ), Sanjay Kumar, Remi Peter Henry , Akhilesh Kumar (joint secretary), Ravikant Jha (treasurer), Gaurav Kumar, Manikant Mishra, Dr Mohsin Akhtar, Mohd Afroz, Shamim Ara (all executive members) .
BSBBA secretary Gouri Shankar participated in the meeting held at St Columbus High School, Beldari, Bettiah (West Champaran). He said that election of Bihar State Ball Badminton Association will be held on June 4, 2023 at Balmikinagar.
