Patna: A Vijay Hazare Trophy List-A match was played today between Bihar and Kerala at Jhumka Ground, Hyderabad. Kerala emerged victorious, defeating Bihar by 133 runs.
Batting first, Kerala posted a respectable total of 266 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammed Azharuddeen led the charge with a well-crafted 88 runs, supported by Salman Nazir, who scored 52, and Akhil, who remained unbeaten on 54 runs.
For Bihar, Prashant Kumar Singh bowled a tight spell, taking 3 wickets for 66 runs in his 10 overs. Sakibul Ghani also impressed with figures of 3 for 56 in 10 overs, while Himanshu chipped in with 1 wicket for 41 runs in 10 overs.
In response, Bihar struggled to build partnerships and were bowled out for 133 in 41.2 overs. Sakibul Ghani top-scored with 31 runs off 45 balls, hitting one six and two fours. Rishav added 20 runs from 57 balls with two boundaries, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi contributed a quickfire 18 off 18 balls, which included two fours and a six. Suraj Kashyap also chipped in with 15 runs off 16 balls, hitting one six and one four.
Kerala’s bowlers performed brilliantly to defend their total. A.A. Sarawate led the attack with 3 wickets for just 23 runs in his 10 overs, while Abdul Bazith claimed 3 wickets for 20 runs in 9.2 overs. The remaining wickets were shared by their teammates, ensuring Bihar could not reach the target.
This match marked Bihar’s final game in this season’s Vijay Hazare Trophy. Bihar played a total of six matches in the tournament, securing just one win and losing five. With this result, Bihar’s campaign has come to an end, while Kerala continues its journey with an impressive performance.
