UP Yoddhas maintain winning streak beating U Mumba

Hyderabad: UP Yoddhas, the GMR owned franchisee today marked a confident 38-28 win over U Mumba as they sealed the third spot on the Pro Kabaddi League standings. In Match number 112 of Pro Kabaddi League season 9, being played at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium Hyderabad, UP Yoddhas who are yet to play another three games this season showcased their class and clear intent to wrap up their league stage as one of the top two teams. UP Yoddhas captain, Pardeep Narwal stood apart earning his 77th Super 10 in his Pro Kabaddi League career as he finished with 13 raid points, while youngster Rohit Tomar (8) played as his perfect aid as the fellow raider in the team. The defensive unit of UP Yoddhas saw Sumit (4) covering the left corner and Ashu Singh (3) on the right corner play a pivotal role in the team’s victory tonight.

UP Yoddhas will next play against Bengaluru Bulls on 04th December, 2022 and the match will be telecast LIVE on Star Sports Network and Disney Plus Hotstar, 08:30 p.m. (IST) onwards.

UP Yoddhas won the toss and invited U Mumba to raid first. Both the teams were level par for the larger part of the first half but a stunning super raid by Pardeep Narwal in the 15th minute not only helped UP Yoddhas add three points to their scorecard but also helped them race ahead to a 12-9 lead. UP Yoddhas did not look behind and in the next minute they inflicted the first All-Out on U Mumba increasing their lead to 16-10. Pardeep Narwal along with Rohit Tomar helped UP Yoddhas maintain their lead while an effective defensive unit ensured that the first half came to an end with UP Yoddhas leading 19-14.

UP Yoddhas went on a slow note in second half and some unforced errors allowed U Mumba to make a comeback. They not only reduced their deficit to just two points, but left UP Yoddhas hanging on the brink of an All Out as the scoreboard read 21-19 with nine minutes to go in the second half. It was at this moment when Ashu Singh’s exceptional super- tackle not only saved UP Yoddhas from an All-Out but also ensured the UP Yoddhas made a comeback in the game and consolidate their lead further. This was immediately led by UP Yoddhas inflicting a second All Out on U Mumba with just 5 minutes to go in the second half as the scoreboard read 34-24 to the formers favour. UP Yoddhas never let go off this lead from hereon and wrapped up the game with a fantastic 10-point win defeating U Mumba 38-28.
