UP Yoddhas Go Down To Bengal Warriors 37-42

Jaipur: UP Yoddhas, the franchisee owned by GMR Group went down to Bengal Warriors 37-42 in their game at the SMS Indoor Stadium, Jaipur. Captain Pardeep Narwal was the highest scorer for UP Yoddhas earning his Super 10 with a total of 16 points. UP Yoddhas are now placed tenth in the pro kabaddi league standings with 22 points to their kitty.

UP Yoddhas will now face Patna Pirates on 19th January 2024. The match between UP Yoddhas and Patna Pirates will be telecast LIVE on Star Sports Network and can be streamed LIVE on Disney Hotstar on 19th January 2024, 09:00 p.m. (IST) onwards.

UP Yoddhas started the game with a pointless opening raid after losing the toss to Bengal Warriors. Bengal Warriors drew first blood through a bonus point, but the Yoddhas restored parity through Vijay Malik. The game thereafter was a neck-to-neck battle with both the teams fighting hard to not concede the lead with the score board reading 7-7. It was after this when a failed tackle attempt by the Yoddhas resulted in the warriors racing ahead with a four-point lead at 7-11. UP Yoddhas hereon tried hard to equalize but failed to return to momentum and faced their first All-out of the game with five minutes to go in the opening half as the scoreboard read 10-17 to the Warriors favour. In the final five minutes of the game Pardeep Narwal played an attacking game but still the Yoddhas trailed the Warriors by seven points (14-21) at the half-way mark.

The second half began on an impressive note for UP Yoddhas as they continued their momentum from the final moments of the first half. Pardeep Narwal was on fire earning three crucial points for Yoddhas within the first three minutes of the second half, that resulted in the Yoddhas inflicting the first All-Out on the warriors. The scoreboard at this point read 20-24 as thew Yoddhas trailed by four points. Hereon, while the Yoddhas raiders made a super effort to make a comeback, but the Warriors’ all-round performance ensured that they never let their lead go away. UP Yoddhas even after inflicting a second All-out on the warriors in the final moments of the game could not catch up and went down 37-42.
