Two Bihar players selected for Indian U-20 rugby sevens team

Patna: Two Bihar players, Harsh Raj and Vidyanand Kumar, have been selected in the Indian U-20 rugby sevens team, which will take part in the Asian Under-20 Rugby Sevens Championship 2023, to be held in Kathmandu from August 19 to 20.

Based on their performance in the national tournaments, 32 players from all over the country were called for a training camp at KIT University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Ganesh Majhi (Captain), Ashok Hansda, Ashish Sambar, Mangal Soren (Odisha), Monu Kumar, Anuj Kumar (Delhi), Harsh Raj, Vidyanand Kumar (Bihar), Arjun Mahto (West Bengal), Vinay Kumar (Karnataka), Raj Kumar (Rajasthan), Tejas Patil (Maharashtra).

On the selection of two Bihar players Bihar Art, Culture, and Youth Department Minister Jitendra Rai, President of Rugby Football Association of Bihar, Sanjay Prakash Mayukh, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Sankaran, Director cum Secretary of Bihar State Sports Authority Pankaj Raj, and Secretary of Rugby Football Association of Bihar Pankaj Kumar Jyoti expressed their happiness and extended their best wishes to the Indian team.
