Patna: Two Bihar pace bowlers, Abhijeet Saket and Anuj Raj have been invited to the Mumbai Indians camp. This information has been given by the Bihar Cricket Association, quoting a letter from the Mumbai Indians.
Anuj Raj Kushwaha of Babuhata village of Barharia, who performed well in the Bihar Cricket League (BCL), was invited as a net bowler in Mumbai Indians in the last IPL. Anuj is a left-arm fast bowler. He made his T20 debut on January 25, 2021. He has taken 16 wickets in 10 matches of T20 cricket and three wickets in five matches of List A.
Another Bihar pace bowler is Abhijeet Saket, who created a sensation by taking seven wickets without giving any runs while playing for Bihar against Mizoram in the Ranji Trophy 2020. Abhijeet is a native of Pusa Road, Vaini village in the Samastipur district.
Abhijeet, who left an indelible mark in the third first-class match of his career, has so far taken 37 wickets in 10 first-class matches and 15 wickets in 13 T20 matches.
Recently, Abhijeet was the first name in the list of standby players in the East Zone team for the Duleep Trophy.
Meanwhile, Bihar Cricket Association president Rakesh Kumar Tiwari, vice president Dilip Singh, secretary Amit Kumar, joint secretary Priya Kumari, treasurer Ashutosh Nandan Singh, district association representative Om Prakash Jaiswal and many senior cricketers congratulated Abhijeet and Anuj for their achievement. They also hoped that the two players would be seen playing in the IPL soon.
