Patna: The trophy for the upcoming Dr. Parmeshwar Dayal Memorial Under-13 Inter School Cricket Tournament, set to take place at the Cricket Academy of Bihar (CAB) ground in Moinul Haq Stadium from 23rd September, was unveiled on Saturday at the Geography Department auditorium of Patna University. The tournament is being held in memory of the former Vice Chancellor of Magadh University and renowned geographer, the late Dr. Parmeshwar Dayal.
The unveiling ceremony was conducted by a distinguished panel, including former Vice Chancellor of Patna University Prof. Rasbihari Singh, Principal of Patna College Prof. Sanjay Sinha, Head of Geography Department at Patna College Prof. Manoj Kumar Sinha, President of the Bihar Players Association Mrityunjay Tiwari, Ward Councillor and Member of the Empowered Committee, Patna Municipal Corporation Indradeep Chandravanshi, former captain of the Indian youth cricket team Amikar Dayal, Head of the Geography Department at Patna University Prof. Nazim, Associate Professor at Patna University Devjani Sarkar, Assistant Professor Dr. Munna Manish Kumar, and Chandrakant. Also present were Santosh Tiwari, Naveen Kumar, coach Mukesh Kumar, and Raju Kumar from the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation.
During the ceremony, Prof. Rasbihari Singh praised the tournament as a valuable platform for nurturing school-level talent, adding that it is a fitting tribute to Dr. Parmeshwar Dayal.
Organising President Amikar Dayal announced that school, academy, and institutional teams will participate in the competition, which will be played on a knockout basis. Matches will be 25 overs per side, with two matches scheduled each day.
He also noted that Santosh Tiwari’s team is fully committed to ensuring the successful conduct of the tournament.
In addition to the winner’s and runner-up’s trophies, individual accolades will be awarded, including a Man of the Match award for each day. Special honours such as Player of the Tournament, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Fielder, and recognition for emerging players will also be presented.
