Patna: Triumphant Cricket Academy and Super Over Cricket Academy emerged victorious in their respective matches on Tuesday, 4th March, in the Shailendra Kumar Memorial Under-15 Inter-School Cricket Tournament. The tournament, held in memory of senior sports journalist Shailendra Kumar and sponsored by Casa Piccola Restaurant, took place at the Krishna Cricket Ground in Khemnichak.
Triumphant Cricket Academy defeated AK Cricket Academy by 8 wickets, while Super Over Cricket Academy secured a 5-wicket win against Basawan Park Cricket Academy.
In the first match, Triumphant Cricket Academy won the toss and elected to field first. AK Cricket Academy, batting first, were bowled out for 134 runs in 19.2 overs, with Abhishek Aditya Rishuranjan top-scoring with 46 runs. Ayush Kumar was the standout bowler for Triumphant Cricket Academy, claiming four wickets. In response, Triumphant Cricket Academy chased down the target comfortably, scoring 135 runs for the loss of two wickets in 20.1 overs. Rohit Kumar led the charge with a brilliant 77 runs, supported by Uttam Bhardwaj’s unbeaten 43. Rohit Kumar was awarded the Player of the Match by Rajiv Kumar, State President of the HAM Secular Party’s Kisan Cell, and Viru Kumar Singh, Vice President.
The second match saw Basawan Park Cricket Academy win the toss and opt to bat first. They posted a competitive total of 183 runs for nine wickets in 25 overs, thanks to Deepu Kumar’s 43 runs. However, Super Over Cricket Academy chased down the target with ease, scoring 187 runs for five wickets in 22.4 overs. Yash Raj was the star of the match, scoring 71 runs, while Arin contributed an unbeaten 43. Yash Raj was named Player of the Match, with the award presented by Organising Secretary Naveen Kumar.
