Patna: In a Women’s Under-23 ODI Trophy match held at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur, Tripura secured a 21-run victory against Bihar. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Bihar managed to restrict Tripura to a total of 157 runs in 49.1 overs, bowling them out.
For Tripura, Megha Sarkar top-scored with 41 runs, while Ambesha Das contributed 33 runs and Debdrita Das added 16 runs to the total. Bihar’s bowlers put up a commendable performance, with Arya claiming 3 wickets, and Rachna, Komal, and Tejaswi each taking 2 wickets, ensuring Tripura did not post a larger score.
In response, Bihar were bowled out for 136 runs in 43.5 overs while chasing the modest target. Arya led the batting effort with 32 runs, supported by Nikki Kumari’s 24 and Preeti’s 20. However, the team fell short of the required total. Tripura’s Ambesha Das was the standout performer with the ball, taking 5 wickets and disrupting Bihar’s batting line-up.
With this victory, Tripura gained a significant advantage in the tournament, while Bihar will need to regroup and improve their performance in their upcoming matches.
