Thrilling Victories Mark Third Day of Hayman Trophy Men’s Senior One Day Cricket Tournament

Patna: The third day of the Hayman Trophy Men’s Senior One Day Cricket Tournament, organised by the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), witnessed a series of exhilarating matches. Teams from Khagaria, Lakhisarai, Shivhar, Gopalganj, Nawada, Jehanabad, Araria, and Aurangabad emerged victorious in their respective encounters on Tuesday.

Saharsa vs Khagaria (Barauni Fertilizer Ground, Begusarai)

Khagaria secured a 4-wicket victory in this match. Saharsa batted first, posting a total of 276 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs. Aniket Virendra Kumar Verma contributed 72 runs off 115 balls, while Aniket Shashi Kumar Singh scored 87 runs off 70 balls. Abhishek claimed 2 wickets with the ball. In response, Khagaria chased down the target, scoring 280 runs for 6 wickets in 44.4 overs. Harshit Yugal Anand was the star performer, smashing 117 runs off 101 balls, including 19 fours and 2 sixes. Muhammad Moz Ahmed took 2 wickets for Khagaria.

Lakhisarai vs Munger (Sandish Compound, Bhagalpur)

Lakhisarai clinched a nail-biting victory by just 1 run. Batting first, Lakhisarai scored 127 runs in 30.3 overs, with notable contributions from Ravi Vinod Singh (30 runs), Neeraj Kumar Sharma (26 runs), and Babul Pradeep Arya (29 runs). Captain Govind Dev Chaudhary was exceptional with the ball, taking 6 wickets for 29 runs in 9.3 overs. In reply, Munger fell agonisingly short, being bowled out for 126 runs in 30 overs. Pranay Sanjay Kumar took 4 wickets for Lakhisarai.

Jehanabad vs Arwal (Moinul Haq Stadium, Patna)

Jehanabad triumphed by 93 runs in this encounter. Batting first, Jehanabad posted a formidable total of 326 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. Vineet Nandan Rawat scored a brilliant 107 runs off 98 balls, while Rajneesh Rampreet Kumar added 74 runs off 92 balls. Aditya Arun was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets. Shivhar won this match by 4 wickets. Muzaffarpur batted first and were bowled out for 153 runs in 42.1 overs. Bharat Basant (35 runs) and Aditya Abhishek Sinha (24 runs) were the top scorers. Thakur Sunil Devashish took 4 wickets for Shivhar. In reply, Sheohar chased down the target, scoring 154 runs for 6 wickets in 41 overs. Sanjay H Bhaskar (49 runs) and Krishna Kumar Yadav (39 runs) played crucial innings. Krishna Kumar and Jahangir Alam took 3 wickets each.

Kishanganj vs Araria (Vidya Vihar Cricket Ground, Purnia)

Araria won by 6 wickets in this match. Kishanganj batted first and scored 254 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. Prashant Kumar Yadav (88 runs) and Akash Kumar Jha (73 runs) were the standout performers. In response, Araria chased down the target comfortably, thanks to a brilliant century from Raja Suresh Babu, who scored 107 runs off 126 balls. Aditya (52 runs) and Adarsh (40 runs) also contributed significantly. Uttam Jaiprakash took 3 wickets for Araria.

Gopalganj won by 40 runs in this match. Batting first, Gopalganj scored 187 runs all out in 43 overs. Bikash Chaudhary (44 runs) and Utkarsh Singh (37 runs) were the top scorers. Mehdi Abdullah took 4 wickets for West Champaran. In reply, West Champaran were bowled out for 147 runs in 39.5 overs. Himanshu and Ayush took 4 wickets each for Gopalganj.

Nalanda vs Nawada (NCA Cricket Ground, Nalanda)

Nawada won by 4 wickets in this encounter. Nalanda batted first and scored 264 runs in 42.3 overs. Kundan Shashi Verma (68 runs) and Siddharth Parmeshwar Kumar (67 runs) were the top performers. In response, Nawada chased down the target, scoring 267 runs for 4 wickets in 43.3 overs. Aurangabad won by 6 wickets in this match. Buxar batted first and scored 222 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Amitosh Janardan Thakur (71 runs) and Nikhil Bhushan Katyayan (51 runs) were the top scorers. Saurabh Kumar Choubey took 4 wickets for Aurangabad. In reply, Aurangabad chased down the target, scoring 226 runs for 4 wickets in 21.3 overs. Vipin Saurabh (84 runs) and Harsh Raj (66 runs) were the standout performers. Sunil, Ranjit, Chandan, and Karan took 2 wickets each.
