Telangana players dominate on the first day of Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub Junior Under-13 Ranking Badminton Championship

Gaya: Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub-Junior Under-13 Ranking Badminton Championship organised by Bihar Badminton Association under the aegis of Badminton Association of India in association with Gaya District Badminton Association got off to a flying start on Wednesday with the beginning of main round matches .

In the main round matches of the tournament being played at the newly constructed eight courts of the Lord Buddha Badminton Academy and the Gandhi Maidan Indoor Badminton Hall, the players of Telangana dominated the proceedings. About a dozen players won their singles matches.

It may be mentioned here that the qualifying matches were played on Tuesday. About 450 boys and girls from all over the country are participating in this tournament. Hussain Ansari, Atiq Ahmed, Aral Dwivedi, Vanya Chowdhary from UP and Tanmay Verma won their singles matches easily. Aashray Agarwal and Admya Chamoli won their doubles match. Apart from this, the winning streak of players from Delhi, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal continued.

Imporatnt results of U-13 section of Telangana players:

Amibharam Tripureni defeated Shubhaditya Pathak of Uttarakhand by 18-21, 21-15, 21-17.
Durga Uday Ishwar Kaligiri defeated Rudranil Mahto of Bengal by 21-11, 21-15.
Chinmay Wankhede defeated Tamil Nadu’s Shelvamdhan 11-21, 21-19, 21-16.
Vidith Reddy defeated Tamil Nadu’s Sibtainerja Somji 21-15, 21-13.
Charan Vudugula defeated Jayesh Duggal of Haryana by 21-11, 21-15.
Priyamvada Rai defeated Nandini Acharya of Haryana by 21-7, 21-10.
Anya Podtur defeated Tithi Jindal of Chandigarh by 21-4, 21-9.
Manya Agarwal defeated Tanisha Soni of Delhi by 21-10, 21-14.
Veeram Snigdha got a walkover from Anusha Prajapati of UP.
