Team Ganga faces Team Godavari in Straight Drive Women’s Cricket final

Patna: Team Godavari will take on Team Ganga in the final of the first Straight Drive Invitational Women’s Cricket Tournament at Urja Stadium on Tuesday. At the end of league matches, Godavari’s remained unbeaten and collected 12 points winning all the three matches, while Team Ganga finished second with 8 points. Team Narmada won one match and Team Kaveri failed to open its account.

Straight Drive’s vice president Premnath Khanna said that the final match will be played on Tuesday from 11 am. Media convenor Rupak Kumar said prize distribution ceremony will be held at 4pm. Patna mayor Sita Sahu will be the chief guest while deputy mayor Reshmi Verma will be the special guest.

In the first match played on Monday, Team Godavari defeated the Team Ganga by seven wickets. In the second match, Team Narmada defeated Team Kaveri by two wickets.

Team Ganga won the toss and batting first scored 70 runs for 8 wickets, losing all the wickets in 22 overs. Nikki Kumari scored 21 runs. Muskan Kumari Verma made 18 runs. Arpana took four wickets for 15 runs.

In reply, Team Godavari won the match by scoring 71 runs for three wickets in 12.3 overs. Apoorva scored 43 runs. Kanhaiya Kumar Sinha gave away the player of the match award to Aparna, who took four wickets for the winning team.

In the second match played there, Team Kaveri won the toss and batting first scored 84 runs for six wickets in 22 overs. Preeti Priya scored 28 runs. Shobhana Saket made 14 runs. Preeti and Shikha took two wickets each from Team Narmada.

In reply,  Team Narmada won the match by scoring 85 runs for 8 wickets in 22 overs with the help of Yashita Singh’s 50 runs. Dolly Kumari scored 12 runs. Preeti Priya and Rupa Kumari took three wickets each from Team Kaveri. In the second match, Mayank Sharma and Nishant of Nishu Enterprises gave away the player of the match award to Yashita Singh of Narmada team.
