Suman Kumar’s 10-Wicket Haul Sets Record in Cooch Behar Trophy, Boosting Bihar’s Chances to win against Rajasthan

Patna: Suman Kumar from Samastipur, Bihar, has etched his name in cricket history with a record-breaking performance in the Cooch Behar Trophy Under-19 Men’s Cricket Tournament. Representing Bihar, Suman achieved the remarkable feat of taking all 10 wickets in an innings, including a hat-trick, against Rajasthan. With this, Suman has now taken 22 wickets in the tournament so far.

At the end of the third day’s play, Rajasthan scored 173 for two in their second innings, trailing Bihar by 112 runs. Earlier, Rajasthan were bowled out for 182 in 75.5 overs in their first innings, in reply to Bihar’s imposing total of 467.

Resuming their innings at 70 for one, Rajasthan quickly lost wickets on the third day. Suman struck early, dismissing captain Tausit in the 33rd over. His hat-trick in the 36th over, claiming Mohit Bhagtani, Anas, and Sachin Sharma, devastated Rajasthan’s batting lineup. Suman’s brilliance continued as he claimed two more wickets in the 44th over, including the well-set Parth Yadav and Akash Mundal.

Despite a 54-run partnership between Jatin and Abhas Shrimali, Suman dismissed Shrimali in the 66th over to end the stand. Rajasthan’s lower order tried to resist, but Suman completed his 10-wicket haul by dismissing Jatin and Gulab Singh, finishing with extraordinary figures of 10 for 53 in 33.5 overs, including 20 maidens.

In Rajasthan’s second innings, Aditya Raj of Bihar took two wickets as the visitors ended the day at 173 for two, with Parth Yadav (83*) and Tausit (52*) at the crease.
