Patna: The first Straight Drive Invitational Women’s Cricket Tournament recognised by Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) is going to be organised from March 11 to March 14 at the Urja Stadium. Organising secretary Mohan Kumar Sinha said that four teams are participating in the tournament. The teams have been selected on the basis of performance in the selection trial. Each team will have 14 players and one manager.
The tournament will be inaugurated by Kumar Ravi, Commissioner of Patna Division. Lokesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Bihar will be present as the chief guest on this occasion.
All the teams will play 3 league matches, out of which the top two teams will play the final. Two matches will be played in a day. There will be six matches of the league and one final in total. All matches will be of 22 overs a side. Trophies will be given to the winner and runner-up team. The best performing players in all the matches will be awarded the woman of the match trophy. At the same time, all the players will be given a memento.
Sinha said that Rupak Kumar has been appointed as media convener. All the matches of the tournament will be played in day time and in white dress.
