Patna: The final match of Bihar’s prestigious and most popular 37th All India Sukhdeo Narain Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament, organised by the BPS Foundation for Youth Welfare under the aegis of the Indu Narain Foundation, will be held at Urja Stadium on April 8. Cambridge Public School will take on St Paul International School in the final, which will be played under lights.
Organising secretary Bijoy Kumar Narain Chunnu said that the final match will start at 4.30 p.m. State panel umpires Rajesh Kumar and Atendra Kumar will officiate the match. For the fourth time in a row, the children will get a chance to play the final match under lights. The tournament committee will provide coloured clothing to both teams at no cost. The match will be played with a white ball. Dhol Nagada and the firecracker show will be the added attractions of the final match.
Chunnu further said that Doordarshan will do a full recording of the final match and telecast it as per their schedule. The team of Suresh Mishra and Rakesh Kumar will broadcast the final live on YouTube and the Purbia channel. Priyanshu and Neeraj will continue to handle the match’s online and off-line scoring.
The final match will be played at 25 overs a side.Pawan Singh, coach of the Ranji team and former player of Sukhdeo cricket, who took Bihar from the Plate Group to Elite in the Ranji Trophy, will be honoured for his achievement.
Some more awards will also be given after the final match. The awards and winners are; Indu Narain Memorial Award: Yashita Singh (cricket); Prabha Devi Memorial Award: Aarti Singh (hockey), Sati Shiromani Smriti Award: Kriti Mohan (basketball); Sheela Sinha Memorial Award: Khushi Singh (weightlifting). Young, promising players Nitin, Pratyush Vidu, and Prateek Sinha will be honoured with the Upcoming Cricket Award.
Kamla Sharan Singh Memorial Award for Winner Runner-up Teams; Man of the Series: Shaligram Prasad Singh Memorial Award ; Best Batsman: Madhava Nand Sahai Memorial Award; Naresh Sinha Memorial Award: Best Bowler; and Shyam Nandan Prasad Memorial Award : Man of the Match: Kamala Sports Award.
