Begusarai, July 14: Srija Kumari of Patna, Soumya Bharti of Katihar and Asadullah of Munger won grand double in the Bihar State Sub-Junior U-13 & 15 Ranking Badminton Championship at Sri Krishna Indoor Stadium here on Thursday.
Soumya Bharti of Katihar clinched Girls U-13 singles and girls U-15 doubles titles. Patna’s Srija claimed the girls’ under-15 singles and doubles titles.
Md Asadullah of Munger bagged the boys U-13 singles and doubles titles. Saksham Vats of Patna claimed the boys U-15 singles crown.
Municipal commissioner of Begusarai Municipal Corporation Abdul Hameed gave away the prizes. General secretary of Bihar Badminton Association KN Jaiswal, chairman of Begusarai District Badminton Association Dr Ranjan Kumar Choudhary, member of the executive committee of Bihar Badminton Association cum secretary of Katihar District Association Sanjeev A Singh, State Bank Chief Manager Rohit Kumar, Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Md Shahid, Neeraj Kumar, Anand Bharti, chief referee Arjun Sah and others were present on the occasion
Results: Girls U-13 singles: Soumya Bharti of Katihar defeated Suhani Kumari of Muzaffarpur 21-16, 21-11.
Boys Under-13 Singles: Asadullah of Munger defeated Ishant Raj of Samastipur 21-18, 18-21, 21-11.
Boys Under-13 Doubles: Md Asadullah of Munger and Ishant Raj of Samastipur defeated the pair of Harshit Raj and Nihar Kumar of Patna 21-6, 21-15.
Boys Under-15 Singles: Saksham Vats of Patna defeated Ranveer Singh of Patna 21-16, 21-13.
Boys Under-15 Doubles: Ranveer Singh of Patna and Parag Singh of Munger defeated Akshar Arthav of Patna and Aman Kumar of Rohtas by 21-16, 21-23, 21-13.
Girls U-15 Singles: Patna’s Srija beat Katihar’s Soumya Bharti 21-6, 21-11.
Girls U-15 Doubles: Soumya Bharti of Katihar and Srija of Patna defeated Suhani Kumari and Jhanvi Duggar 21-12, 21-16.
