Patna: The Laxman Singh Memorial Under-15 Inter-School Cricket Tournament commenced in vibrant fashion at the Krishna Cricket Ground in Khemnichak, Patna. SKP and SPCA emerged victorious in their respective matches on the opening day of the tournament.
The event was inaugurated by JD(U) state spokesperson Manish Kumar and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party national spokesperson Shravan Kumar Agrawal, who were introduced to the players before the ceremony. Naveen Kumar, General Secretary of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests.
The first match saw SKP take on the Learning School of Cricket, with SKP clinching victory in a thrilling super over. The Learning School of Cricket won the toss and opted to field first. SKP posted a total of 148 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, the Learning School of Cricket was set a revised target of 119 runs in 15 overs due to rain interruptions. They fell just one run short, scoring 118 runs for eight wickets, resulting in a tie. In the super over, the Learning School of Cricket managed only 4 runs for the loss of two wickets in 0.5 overs. SKP chased down the target effortlessly, scoring 6 runs in just one ball without losing any wickets. Abhishek Raj of SKP was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
In the second match, SPCA secured a commanding 51-run victory over CAP. CAP won the toss and elected to field first. SPCA set a challenging total of 164 runs for eight wickets in their 20 overs. In reply, CAP were bowled out for 113 runs in 15.4 overs. Jai Shriram of SPCA was awarded the Player of the Match for his stellar contribution.
