SKP CA clinch Kusumraj Maniam Gold Cup cricket title

Patna: SKP Cricket Academy won the Kusumraj Maniam Gold Cup Under-17 Inter School Cricket Tournament title defeating Lakshya Cricket Academy by 44 runs at the Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here on Monday. The tournament was organised under the banner of Dr Rajdev Sharma Memorial Trust.

SKP Cricket Academy won the toss and deciding to bat first scored 192 runs for five wickets in 25 overs. Suraj scored a brilliant century 100. In reply, Lakshya Cricket Academy scored 148 runs for 8 wickets in 25 overs.

Bihar Players Association president Mrityunjay Tiwari and Dr Amarendra Kumar Amresh, chairman of Dr Rajdev Sharma Memorial Trust and Dayanand Sharma, academic director of Kusumraj Maniam School jointly gave away the prizes.

Umpires Ashutosh Sinha, Rajesh Ranjan, Baijnath Prasad, Raja Kumar, Vivek Kumar and commentator Mrityunjay Jha were specially awarded on this occasion.

SKP’s Suraj was adjudged the player of the final match and man of the tournament.  Other awards: Best bowler-Sameer of Lakshya Cricket Academy; Best batsman-Manjeet of State Coaching Centre; Best fielder-Avinash of Learning School of Cricket; Best wicketkeeper-Chhotu of Lakshya Cricket Academy and Budding player-Karthik of Shriram Khel Maidan.

Naveen Kumar welcomed the guests and organising secretary proposed a vote of thanks.
