Patna, August 2: Bihar industry minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Tuesday asked “successful non-resident Bihari entrepreneurs” to make their home state their manufacturing hub to get a good hold of a huge market in northeast states and some neighbouring countries.

Talking to reporters after inaugurating a tiles showroom at Danapur on the outskirts of Patna, Hussain said Bihar, apart from offering a big market, also had the potential to become a manufacturing hub for northeast states as well as neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar.

The minister said the conditions in Bihar were now suitable for taking a big leap in the industry sector.

“With industry-friendly infrastructure following improvement in the condition of roads and electricity supply as well as good governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar is now ready for expansion of industries. The state is also offering abundant land at cheaper rates to set up industries in the state,” Hussain added.
