Patna: This year five-day-long Deepotsav (Diwali celebrations) begins with Dhanteras today (October 22, Saturday). Even before this, the prices of sweets and dry fruits have increased in the market but not as much compared to last year. Due to possible adulteration in sweets, people now prefer to buy dry fruits over sweets. Dry fruit markets are decorated from general stores to sweet shops.
