Sardar Patel School Cricket Festival to Begin on May 20 with Casa Picolla Cup for U-12 Boys

Patna: Marking its 25th anniversary, the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation is set to organise the Sardar Patel School Cricket Festival from May 20. The Under-12 boys’ tournament will be played under the title Casa Picolla Cup, as announced by Rajesh Sharma, Managing Director of Casa Picolla Restaurant.

Sharma highlighted that Casa Picolla Restaurant is dedicated to supporting sports development in Bihar and regularly contributes to various events as part of its social responsibility. He noted that the Casa Picolla School Cricket League has been successfully organised over the past five years with the company’s backing. He assured that all necessary arrangements for the players will be made, with emphasis on ensuring the smooth conduct of the matches.

Naveen Kumar, general secretary of the foundation, stated that preparations for the festival are progressing swiftly. He mentioned that several companies are sponsoring different categories, with each tournament being named after its respective sponsor.

The cricket festival will include matches across four age categories: Under-12, Under-13, Under-14, and Under-15.

Attractive prizes are on offer, with trophies for winning and runner-up teams in each category. In addition, players will be honoured with individual awards such as Man of the Match, Best Batsman of the Tournament, Best Bowler, and Best Emerging Player.

Santosh Tiwari, founder of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, said that the festival serves as an excellent platform for nurturing young cricket talent. He added that the foundation has been consistently working to promote school-level cricket since its inception, and such tournaments are instrumental in bringing emerging players into the spotlight.
