Patna: In the Baidyanath Prasad Memorial Under-13 Inter-School Cricket Tournament, organised by the Baidyanath Prasad Foundation at the Cricket Academy of Bihar ground, the Cricket Academy of Patna defeated Karuna Cricket Academy by seven wickets in a thrilling match on Thursday, 12 December.
Karuna Cricket Academy won the toss and opted to bat first, posting a total of 130 runs before being bowled out in 23.2 overs. The innings saw contributions from Ayeb (19), Abhinav Arya (18), and Pandey Kumar (22), with 44 extras bolstering the score. The bowlers from the Cricket Academy of Patna delivered a commendable performance, with Avinash taking 3/29, Rahul Kumar 2/17, Ayush Ranjan 2/29, Mohammad Kaif 1/10, Rishu Raj 1/11, and Sagar Kumar 1/14.
In response, the Cricket Academy of Patna chased down the target in just 12.5 overs, scoring 134 runs for the loss of three wickets. Sagar Kumar was the star of the innings, smashing an impressive 93 runs. Siddharth Kumar provided steady support, remaining unbeaten on 16. The bowling efforts from Karuna Cricket Academy included Pandey Kumar’s 2/15 and Tillu’s 1/36, but they could not prevent the swift chase.
Sagar Kumar’s stellar performance earned him the Player of the Match award, which was presented by Coach Mukesh Kumar.
