Roundglass Punjab Hockey Academy Announces Selection Trials for Its Residential Academy

Mohali: Roundglass Punjab Hockey Academy (RGPHA) will conduct selection trials to select talented kids for its residential academy in Mohali. The trials will be conducted for U-15 boys born between 1st November 2009 and 31st December 2013 and for U-17 boys born between 1st November 2007 and 31st December 2009. The participants must be residents of Punjab and should have a minimum height of 160 centimeters. The trials will take place at the International Hockey Stadium, Marar District, Gurdaspur on 25th February from 9:30 am onwards. The selected players will have the opportunity to receive a full scholarship at the residential academy where they will receive state-of-the-art training facilities under a team of dedicated professionals.

The Roundglass Punjab Hockey Academy is committed to developing young athletes into successful individuals by nurturing their wholistic development through the program. Moreover, the Academy will also take care of the athletes’ academics, nutrition, sports psychology, and medical care. Through these initiatives, the Academy aims to provide the best training environment for young athletes to achieve their full potential.

Speaking about the trials, Dronacharya award winner, Olympic Gold medalist and Assistant Technical Director of RGPHA Rajinder Singh said, “Roundglass Punjab Hockey Academy has been one of the best hockey academies in the country for some time now and we are helping young kids from the grassroots by providing them with the best of facilities for their wholistic development. This is an excellent opportunity for the kids to strengthen their fundamentals of the game and I hope that we will have very good participation in the trials.”

The full scholarship will contain academic learning under a team of experienced teachers across three boards: CBSE, PSEB and NIOS. The Academy also has an in-house nutritionist who will design individualized nutrition plans. The health of the kids will be taken care of by the in-house medical team that contains experienced professionals. The scholars will also receive regular intervention in sports psychology by licensed mental health professionals and sports psychologists. The daily program also contains integrated yoga sessions and, most importantly, they will get a platform to showcase their skills in Junior and Sub-Junior tournaments all over the country to increase their competitive exposure.
