Ranji Trophy: Kerala Score 302/9 Against Bihar as Salman Nizar Hits Unbeaten Century

Patna: Kerala posted a total of 302 for the loss of 9 wickets in 84 overs in their first innings against Bihar in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group match at the Sports Hub International Cricket Stadium, Kerala, on Thursday.

Salman Nizar was the standout performer for Kerala, remaining unbeaten on 111 runs. Shaun Roger contributed 59 runs, while Akash Chandran scored 38, Nidhish MD added 30, and Anand Krishnan managed 11. Vaishakh Chandran was at the crease on 1 run when play ended for the day.

Kerala’s batsmen started well, but Bihar’s disciplined bowling attack applied pressure, taking wickets at regular intervals and making them struggle for runs.

Bihar Bowlers Keep Kerala in Check

Bihar’s bowlers delivered a strong performance, restricting Kerala’s scoring opportunities. Sachin Kumar and Harsh Vikram took two wickets each, while Veer Pratap Singh, Abhishek, Ghulam Rabbani, S Gani, and YP Yadav picked up one wicket apiece. Their tight bowling kept Kerala from playing freely and maintaining momentum.

As the match progresses, Bihar will aim to wrap up Kerala’s innings quickly on the next day to gain a better opportunity with the bat. With this match being crucial for Bihar, the team will look to execute its strategy effectively to take control.
