Patna: Under the aegis of Patna Football Association, Rajkumar Mahaseth Memorial Patna District Senior Division Football League was off to a colourful start here on Sunday. In the first match, Civil Audit defeated Imperial Soccer FC 3-0 at the local Gandhi Maidan Football Ground.

Earlier the league was inaugurated by the chief guest, art, culture and youth department minister Jitendra Kumar Rai by releasing balloons in the air and introducing to the players. At the lemon break, Samir Kumar Mahaseth, chairman of Patna Football Association cum Industries Minister of Bihar was also introduced to the players.

All the guests were welcomed with bouquets and mementos. Shyam Babu Rai, Vidyabhushan Singh, Satyendra Kumar, Shailendra Kumar and Rajan Kumar alias Raju were present as special guests on this occasion. All were welcomed by the president of Patna Football Association, Ram Ishwar Prasad, while the vote of thanks was proposed by PFA secretary Manoj Kumar.

In the match played today, Saurabh Mandal scored in the 21st minute, Arif Khan scored in the 37th minute and Ashok Oraon scored in the 70th minute for Civil Audit. Former Santosh Trophy player Arvind Kumar Mishra presented the Best Player award to Abuzar Khan of the winning team.
