Varanasi: Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal Vishwavidyalaya steamrollered Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth 7-2 in a league match of East Zone Inter University Hockey (Men) Tournament at Amphitheatre Astro Turf Hockey Ground in Banaras Hindu University on Friday.
Sardhanand and Vijender scored three goals each for the winning team.
In the second match of the day Banaras Hindu University beat Sambalpur University 2-1. Sameer and Raja scored one goal each for BHU.
In the third match, Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University crushed Sambalpur University 11-3. In the fourth league match of the day, Banaras Hindu University played 2-2 draw with Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth. Lalit and Shoaib scored one goal each for Vidyapeeth and Sunni and Raja scored one goal each for Banaras Hindu University.
