Patna: The 14th Hockey Bihar Junior Girls State Championship 2024, organised by Hockey Saharsa, is underway at the MLT College ground, Saharsa.
In today’s first semi-final, Purnia secured a 2-1 victory over Buxar to advance to the final. Anisha Kumari opened the scoring for Buxar with a goal from a penalty corner in the 19th minute, giving her team a 1-0 lead. However, Purnia’s Fancy Khatun responded with two consecutive goals in the 36th and 57th minutes, securing her team’s spot in the final.
The second semi-final saw Patna dominate Siwan with a resounding 6-0 win. Khushi Kumari scored the first goal for Patna in the 5th minute, followed by Siddhi with the second in the 6th minute. Sweta Kumari added to the tally with goals in the 25th, 34th, and 39th minutes, and Rishu Kumari completed the victory with a goal from a penalty corner in the 59th minute.
Purnia and Patna will now face off in the championship final
