Pune: Tennis Premier League (TPL) debutants and Taapsee Pannu and World of Krida co-owned Punjab Patriots, bounced back with a 43-37 win over Mumbai Leon Army on day four of the fifth Tennis Premier League. Punjab Patriots have regained the top spot in the points table with a total of 164 points to their kitty.

Punjab Patriots will now take on Pune Jaguars on 16th December 2023. The match will be telecast LIVE on Sony Sports 2 and can be streamed LIVE on the official YouTube Channel of Tennis Premier League on 16th December 2023, 5:55 p.m. (IST) onwards.

Switzerland’s Conny Perrin opened the books for Punjab Patriots with a comfortable 11-9 win over Mumbai Leon Army’s Sowjanya Bavisetti. Punjab’s impressive start was however marginalised as Digvijay Pratap Singh went down 9-11 to Ernests Gulbis of the Leon’s in the men’s singles encounter. However even with Mumbai winning the game, Digvijay’s final two points ensured the Patriots are levelled overall with the scoreboard reading 20-20 post the women’s and men’s singles encounters.

It was now Arjun’s time to push the gas for the Patriots in the final two doubles fixtures. Arjun and Conny started the mixed doubles with an impressive point from the opening serve, eventually walking away with a 12-8 confident win over Mumbai’s Leon’s Vijay and Sowjanya.

The final game of the day saw Arjun and Digvijay pair up for Men’s doubles against Vijay and Esnests’ pair. The pair kept the tempo high and led the game throughout to finish the game with a score of 11-9 to their favor.
