Chennai: Punjab FC (PFC) will face Chennaiyin FC in their fifth match of the season in the Indian Super League 2023-24 season tomorrow which will be played here at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 8 PM.
Punjab FC played out a gritty goalless draw away from home against Jamshedpur FC in their previous encounter while Chennaiyin FC beat Hyderabad FC by a single goal in their previous round which was played in Hyderabad.
Speaking ahead of the game, PFC Head Coach Staikos Vergetis said,” Both teams need three points tomorrow and I am sure our players will give their best to get a positive result out of the game. All the matches that are over in the past are beyond us and we will only focus on one match at a time.”
RGPFC defender Melroy Assisi during the pre – match press conference said, “It is a good feeling to be playing in the ISL after playing in the I-League. We are expecting a good match tomorrow and we are confident of getting a positive result out of the game”.
Punjab FC are eleventh on the table with two points from four matches while Chennaiyin FC are tenth on the table with three points from four matches.
