Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhagalpur, Bihar, on February 24, to launch transformative initiatives for farmers, including the release of the 19th installment of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi. During the event, Rs 1600 crore will be directly transferred to 76 lakh Bihar farmers, granting each beneficiary Rs 2000 to strengthen their financial stability. Nationwide, the installment will disburse Rs 20,000 crore to 9.7 crore farmers, underscoring the government’s focus on agricultural welfare.
PM Modi will arrive at Purnia Airport and travel to Bhagalpur via helicopter. Alongside the PM-KISAN disbursement, he will inaugurate new schemes and lay foundation stones for projects aimed at accelerating Bihar’s development. A highlight of the visit includes the launch of a Center of Excellence and agricultural research institutes, designed to drive innovation, modernize farming practices, and boost productivity in the sector.
This visit highlights the central government’s commitment to direct farmer support and rural growth. The PM-KISAN scheme, a flagship programme for income supplementation, continues to empower farmers across India, ensuring timely financial aid for agricultural needs. With Bihar being a key agrarian state, the initiatives announced are expected to enhance livelihoods, promote sustainable farming, and stimulate economic progress in the region.
