Gopalganj: All preparations have been finalised for the three-day Asmita Khelo India Women’s Kho-Kho League (Under-14 and Under-18), which will begin on December 28 at Minj Stadium in Gopalganj. The event is being hosted by the District Administration of Gopalganj, under the joint aegis of the Bihar State Sports Authority and the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar.
Neeraj Kumar Pappu, Secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, announced the Bihar teams participating in the league and expressed confidence in their performance. He noted that teams from across the country are continuing to arrive, with 15 teams expected in both categories. Teams from Bihar, Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab have already reached the venue.
Excellent transport arrangements have been made to bring the teams from Gopalganj and Siwan railway stations to their accommodation, where they are being given a warm welcome.
Pappu also confirmed that the construction of the match grounds has been completed. Three courts have been built, two for matches and one for practice. This league, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Sports Authority of India, and the Kho-Kho Federation of India, is expected to be a major sporting event.
District Sports Officer Abdul Rashid stated that the players have been accommodated at the SS Girls Higher Secondary School, which is conveniently located near the match venue. Food arrangements have also been made, and special attention is being given to the comfort of the players. He added that players and technical officials from outside the region will have the opportunity to enjoy Bihari cuisine during their stay.
