Patna: A sex racket operating within a family restaurant in the Barh area near Patna has been uncovered by the police. Acting on confidential information, a police team raided the premises and exposed illicit activities being conducted inside the establishment.
The restaurant appeared to be a standard eatery from the outside, but private cabins had been constructed within, where prostitution was taking place. During the raid, the police apprehended three couples in objectionable situations and rescued four women. In addition, objectionable items were recovered from the site. The restaurant owner has been detained for questioning.
Reports indicate that this illegal operation had been running for several years, with a noticeable increase in activity in recent times. The police had received multiple complaints, prompting the decisive action.
The raid attracted a large crowd from the surrounding area, making it challenging for the police to maintain order. Mild force had to be used to disperse the gathering, after which the restaurant was sealed in the presence of a magistrate.
According to the police, the restaurant was being outwardly operated as a family-friendly establishment, while organised illegal activities were taking place behind closed doors. Further investigations are ongoing, with detained individuals being interrogated to uncover the full extent of the network.
ASP-1 Rakesh Kumar assured that strict action will be taken against the restaurant owner and all others involved in the operation. Efforts are underway to expose the entire network connected to this racket.
This incident serves as a stark warning to society about the misuse of public spaces for illegal activities. The police’s swift action not only highlights the crime but also marks a significant step towards ensuring community safety.
