Patna, July 14: “The role of physical education teachers is very important in fulfilling Bihar’s Olympic 2028 campaign and identifying sports talent”, said Director General of Sports Development Authority of Bihar Raveendran Sankaran, while addressing the trainees on the last day of the training programme of the second batch of physical teachers working in secondary and higher secondary schools of the state. The programme has been organised under the aegis of Bihar Education Project Council in collaboration with UNICEF.
Sankaran mentioned in detail the history of performance in sports of the state and explained how and why achievement can be achieved in which sport along with talent and better ability. In the training programme of the second batch, he delivered a special lecture on the topic “Talent Identification: When, Why and How today”. At the same time, he told the trainees that there is a lot of talent in rural areas and your role is important in identifying them and giving the right direction.
He also released a book related to Yogasana and Pranayama of Munger Yoga University along with he gave away certificates to all the trainees. Former Director of SCERT and education Consultant of UNICEF SA Moin also encouraged the trainees.
Earlier, Deepak Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department, delivered a lecture on the topic “Healthy Life: Who Doesn’t Want It”, prepared on the basis of his experiences. In which he told that we can enjoy a happy and healthy life through daily disciplined lifestyle, yoga and sports. He said that children are our future and for better future, they should be made aware about health and lifestyle from today itself.
Abhishek Kumar, physical education teacher cum NIS athletics instructor of Bapu Smarak Mahila High School, who was conducting this training programme as a trainer, welcomed all the guests. UNICEF consultant Nishant and trainer Mrityunjay were present on this occasion.
In the second batch of the training program, the physical education teachers of secondary and higher secondary schools of Araria, Arwal, Aurangabad, Banka, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur and Madhubani districts participated.
