Patna to host 33rd Bihar State Kyorugi and 6th Poomsae Taekwondo Championships from Sept 17

Patna: Under the aegis of Bihar Taekwondo Association, Patna District Taekwondo Association is going to organise two-day 33rd Bihar State Kyorugi and 6th Poomsae Taekwondo Championships from September 17 to 18 at Patliputra Sports Complex. This information was given by Rajesh Kumar Sahu, general secretary of Bihar Taekwondo Association at a Press conference on Thursday.

He said that all the preparations for the championships have been completed. The weight of all the players will be taken on September 16. For this, they have been asked to report at the Patliputra Sports Complex in the morning of September 16. About 700 boys and girls players and technical officials from 32 districts of Bihar are participating in the championships.

The championships will be divided into 4 groups; sub junior, cadet, junior and senior groups. All the matches of Junior and senior group will be held on Electronics Censor Board.

Organising committee secretary JP Mehta said that arrangements for accommodation and food for all the players have been made at the Sports Complex premises itself. He said that the championships would be duly inaugurated on the morning of September 17 by Jitendra Kumar Rai, Minister of Arts, Culture  and Youth Department.

Raveendran Sankaran (IPS), director general, Bihar State Sports Authority and Pankaj Kumar Raj (IPS), director cum secretary, Bihar State Sports Authority will be the special guests on this occasion.

Manish Chandra Rai, chairman of the organising committee said that all the preparations related to the championships have been completed. The main attraction of the championships will be the hosting of the match on electronic scoring system. Many dignitaries including Bihar Taekwondo Association vice president Arun Kumar, joint secretary Samta Rahi, senior members Dharmendra Kumar and Manohar Chandra Gupta were present at the Press conference.
