Patna Start Campaign in Style at RSA Memorial Kabaddi Tournament

Patna: The RSA (Rajesh-Shailendra-Alok) Memorial Kabaddi tournament kicked off with Patna’s resounding victory over Gaya’s team. The tournament was inaugurated on Saturday at the Patliputra Sports Complex by Milita Anand, wife of late senior sports journalist Rajesh Kumar.

On the occasion of the inauguration, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad and MLC Binod Jaiswal encouraged all the players by addressing them. Both the guests first garlanded the portraits of the three late sports journalists Rajesh Kumar, Shailendra Kumar and Alok Chaturvedi. Later, they got introduced to the players.

In the first match, hosts Patna defeated Gaya 54-18 in a one-sided match to make it to the semi-finals. Buxar defeated Bhojpur by 28-21 and made it to the semi-finals. Patna Pirates team coach Narendra Kumar and other members watched the entire match of the players and tested their talent.

Earlier, officials of various sports associations of the state, officials of art, culture and youth department, sports journalists, players and sports lovers were present in the inauguration ceremony of the tournament.

The semi-finals of this tournament will be played on Sunday morning while the final match will be played in the evening.
