Patna: The Patna High Court delivered its verdict in the 70th BPSC PT exam case on Friday. The candidates have suffered a major setback due to the court’s decision. The court ruled in favour of the commission and refused to conduct the 70th PT exam again. Along with this, the High Court dismissed all the writ petitions. The High Court allowed the commission to complete the remaining process.
The division bench led by Justice Ashutosh Kumar heard the petitions of Pappu Kumar and others. After the hearing on all the petitions, including the PIL, was completed, the decision was reserved. Now the court has dismissed these petitions. The decision is a big setback for those candidates who were demanding the cancellation of the exam and its re-conducting.
The Patna High Court heard the petition on March 19. During this period, the division bench of Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar and Justice Parth Sarathi heard six petitions related to this matter. After this, the court had reserved its decision.
The BPSC has already declared the result of the 70th BPSC PT exam. Candidates are continuously alleging rigging in this exam. There have also been numerous enquiries about the examination system. The 70th BPSC PT exam took place in various districts of Bihar on December 13, 2024. Antisocial elements disrupted the examination by creating a ruckus at the Bapu Examination Centre in Patna. Keeping the circumstances in mind, the BPSC had decided to cancel the examination conducted at this centre only. At the same time, the candidates were demanding the cancellation of the entire examination.
Candidates may move the Supreme Court
There was a big agitation in Patna demanding the cancellation of the 70th Combined Competitive Examination. The police also lathi-charged the agitating students, in which several students got injured. The police also registered a case against several coaching institute teachers. Many leaders also joined the protest against the 70th BPSC exam cancellation. The Patna High Court’s decision has disappointed those candidates who were anticipating the cancellation of the exam. Those who filed the petition have the option of going to the Supreme Court.
Famous coaching teacher Guru Rehman seems unhappy with the decision by the Patna High Court on the BPSC 70th preliminary examination. Talking to the media, he said, “We will file a petition in the Supreme Court against this decision.”
