Patna: The Patna District Senior Division Cricket League season 2023-24 had a grand start on Monday at the Moinul Haq Stadium. The league was inaugurated by CH Suryanarayan Raju, Director of Target Easytech LLP, Rajesh Kumar, Chairman of Patna District Cricket Steering Committee, Member Rahbar Abedin by releasing the balloon in the air and getting introduced to the players. League coordinator Dhananjay Kumar welcomed and the guests and he also proposed a vote of thanks. Many dignitaries including Dr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, Nishant Kumar were present on this occasion. In the inaugural match, Panchsheel Cricket Club defeated Sharma Sporting Club by 42 runs.
On the occasion of the inauguration, CH Suryanarayan Raju gave a message to the players and said that all of you should concentrate only on your game. He said that last year also the matches were also organized in a grand manner, and this year they will be organized in an even better manner.
Chairman Rajesh Kumar, while giving a message to the players, said that along with the game, you should also keep your documents clean and neat. He said that you played well but if there is any manipulation or mistake in your documents then problems may arise in your cricket career. He said that you all should perform better in the matches and strengthen your claim. It is our endeavor to provide you the best facilities.
Due to wet pitch, the match was played in 30-30 overs. Sharma Sporting Club won the toss and invited Panchsheel CC to bat. Batting first, Panchsheel CC scored 180 runs for 9 wickets in 30 overs with the help of 56 runs from captain Vikas Kumar. Abhishek Kumar scored 34 runs and Aditya Shivam scored 29 runs. For Sharma Sporting, Mohit Kumar took four wickets for 37 runs.
In reply, Sharma Sporting Club team was all out for 138 runs in 26.4 overs. Mohit Kumar scored 44, Gaurav Raj scored 24, Aryveer Kushwaha scored 21 runs. For Panchsheel CC, Saket took 4 wickets for 18 runs and Aditya Kumar took 2 wickets for 27 runs. Panchsheel CC bowler Saket was given the Player of the Match award by umpire Rajesh Sinha Puttu.
