Patna Clinch 22nd Bihar State Sub Junior Girls Kabaddi Championship Title

Patna: Patna emerged victorious at the 22nd Bihar State Sub Junior Girls Kabaddi Championship, securing the title after defeating Sitamarhi with a score of 17-13 in the final. The Patna team claimed the gold medal, while Sitamarhi finished as runners-up. Begusarai and Lakhisarai secured third and fourth places, respectively.

The championship was held at Upkramit Madhya Vidyalaya in Jiradei, the birthplace of India’s first President, Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Organised under the banner of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association, the event was hosted by the Siwan District Kabaddi Association.

The winning players were honoured by several dignitaries, including Siwan District Education Officer Raghavendra Pratap Singh, Chairman of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association Kumar Vijay Singh, District Sports Officer Upendra Yadav, BDO Jiradei Dheeraj Dubey, and President of the Siwan District Kabaddi Association Arvind Kumar Singh. Other notable attendees included Baginder Nath Pathak, Manan Singh, educationist Ganesh Dutt Pathak, Principal Krishna Kumar Singh, Rameshwar Singh, and Indrajit Singh.

District Kabaddi Association President Arvind Kumar Singh delivered the welcome address. During the event, Siwan District Education Officer Raghavendra Pratap Singh emphasised the importance of such tournaments in encouraging girls, particularly from rural areas, to excel in sports. District Sports Officer Upendra Yadav highlighted the government’s efforts to develop sports infrastructure and urged local talents to utilise these facilities to enhance their skills and bring pride to Siwan.

Kumar Vijay Singh, Chairman of the Bihar Kabaddi Association, stressed the need to provide a platform for the state’s abundant talent. Meanwhile, Arvind Kumar Singh, President of the Siwan District Kabaddi Association, expressed pride in hosting a state-level Kabaddi competition in Siwan for the first time and promised more such events in the future.

The programme was conducted by Manoranjan Singh, with Krishna Kumar Singh delivering the vote of thanks. The event was attended by prominent figures such as Virendra Singh, Vivekanand Tiwari, Kanhaiya Pandit, Prem Kishore Pandey, Manoj Singh, Jitendra Singh, Sanjay Giri, Manoj Kumar, and Umesh Ram.
