Patna: Patna Capitals defeated Naugachhia Super Kings by 35-28. 35-26 to win the boys title of the Raj Kumar Sinha Memorial State Level Youth Ball Badminton Championship at Chitragupt Association Campus, Chhata Chowk, Muzaffarpur on Thursday.
In the girls’ section, Vaishali Warriors defeated Kilkari 35-25,35-19 and captured the trophy. Captain Ashish Kumar Ojha, Rohit, Ravi, Rahul, Pawan for Patna Capitals and Mukul, Ankit Sharma, Md Saif Ali for Naugachhia Super Kings performed well. In the girls’ category, Kavita, Priya Singh, Vandana, Muskaan, Priyanka for Vaishali Warriors and Yukta Rani, Poonam, Khushi for Kilkari played brilliantly. Ashish Ojha of Patna got the best player of the tournament award in the boys’ category and Vandana Kumari of Vaishali in the girls’ category.
Bihar Ball Badminton Association’s president-cum- Bihar Legislative Council member Prof Nawal Kishore Yadav and Tirhut Divisional Commissioner Gopal Meena gave away the prizes. The guests were welcomed by Rajeev Kumar Sinha, secretary of Muzaffarpur District Ball Badminton Association and Rajesh Kumar Sinha, organising secretary proposed a vote of thanks. Bihar Ball Badminton Association secretary Gouri Shankar was present on the occasion.
