Dhanbad: The 8th Jharkhand State Thang-Ta Championship, organised under the aegis of Jharkhand Thang-Ta Association, began on Saturday at Agrasen Bhawan, Hirapur in Dhanbad.
On the first day of the tournament, in the girls’ sub-junior category, Palamu girls dominated by winning three gold medals while Dhanbad, Lohardaga and Bokaro got one gold medal each.
Gold medal winners: Sanaya Singh, Anjani Dodde, Baby Shukla (all Palamu), Aishwarya Prasad (Dhanbad), Vibha Rani (Bokaro) and Kiran Oraon (Lohardaga).
Silver medallists: Santushti Mohali, Sakshi Oraon, Anisha Nag, Anjali Kumari (all Lohardaga), Amina Shaikh hai (Palamu) and Simran Soren (East Singhbhum).
Apart from this, Ashwika Roy (East Singhbhum), Arya Jain, Shivanya Agarwal, Shivangi Singh, Akshita Pandit (all Dhanbad) and Naina Kumari (Lohardaga) got bronze medals.
Earlier, the championship was inaugurated by Divya Shree Dodde. Montfort Academy’s chairperson Visha Agarwal gave away the medals and certificates to all the winners.
The championship was conducted by authorised Thang-Ta judges Krishna Kumar Sao, Sanju Kumar, Mritunjay Kumar, Sankar Ram, Mamta Pandey, Julie Kumari and Sandeep Kumar under the supervision of Jharkhand Thang-Ta Association President Ranjit Keshari and Secretary Manoj Sharma.
