Gonda/Lucknow: Stressing that the double engine government is working for the development of people with utmost sensitivity, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday, hit out at the previous governments for disrespecting people’s vote and working against their interests.

Addressing a public meeting at Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Thomson Inter College Ground in Gonda, Yogi said: “Your one vote changed the destiny of the country. Previously, those you elected were hesitant to even mention the name of Lord Ram. Whenever your festival came, they used to impose curfew. They attacked faith and unleashed anarchy. They used to create barriers in the security and employment of youth. They used your vote against your interests.”

“Besides, the prosperity of farmers was trampled upon and robberies were committed at traders’ houses. But today, the daughters and the traders are safe in Uttar Pradesh. The double engine government also respects faith”, he added.

The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 422 development projects worth Rs 1689.46 crore on the occasion. He also inaugurated the Autonomous State Medical College and announced to name it after freedom fighter Devi Baksh Singh, who played an important role during the 1857 revolt. CM also distributed keys, cheques, certificates etc. to the beneficiaries of various schemes.

Yogi informed that appointment letters were given to 100 youths in Lucknow on Thursday morning itself, adding that they were joining frontline services.

The Chief Minister said that the entire Gonda has gone to visit Ayodhya. Gonda is benefiting the most from Lord Ram’s presence in Ayodhya with all the development coming to the district. “Good governance brings welfare to the poor and respects the faith in this way”, he asserted. He mentioned that previously bullets were fired on Ram devotees, but flowers are showered on them.

The Chief Minister stated: “Our country has changed. We are living in a new India, which has enhanced the pride of 140 crore Indians worldwide. Terrorism and Naxalism have ended. The nation is advancing with new standards of security and prosperity.”

Calling for support towards the third term of the Modi government, CM Yogi said that India will become the third-largest economy under PM Modi’s leadership. “The Prime Minister also says that our resolution should be a developed India. For a developed India, a developed Uttar Pradesh and a developed Gonda are necessary”, he remarked.

Highlighting the development of Gonda, the Chief Minister mentioned that in order to develop Gonda, its roads are being connected with the expressway. A medical college has been established in Gonda. After independence, the double-engine government gave justice to the Vantangiya community for the first time. Projects in view of flood management have been completed. Work has been done to complete the long-delayed Saryu Nagar National Project for four decades, he informed.

He made efforts, and today Gonda is clean. The public representatives here come to talk about development. They consider me a family member and argue for Gonda’s development. There will be no shortage of funds for development projects in Gonda and Devipatan Commissionerate,” Yogi added.
