Nishika Agrawal Wins Back-to-Back Gold in Artistic Gymnastics at Khelo India Youth Games

New Delhi: Telangana’s Nishika Agrawal continued her impressive form in the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG), winning the gold medal for the second consecutive time in the women’s artistic gymnastics all-around event. The competition was held on Tuesday at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi.

The 17-year-old has participated in the Khelo India Games for the third time, having previously competed in Tamil Nadu and Haryana. After the final, Nishika told SAI Media, “Playing in KIYG over the years has given me a lot of confidence. This time I was determined to give my best and stayed fully focused and concentrated. It paid off well.”

Having already secured a place in the senior India team last year, Nishika defeated Maharashtra’s Anushka Patil and Sara Raul, who won the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Khelo India athletes also dominated the men’s all-around final. Harshit D from Uttar Pradesh clinched the gold by surpassing Niladri Sarkar from West Bengal, while Delhi’s Akshat Bajaj secured the bronze.

Maharashtra topped the rhythmic gymnastics events. Parina Madanpotra won gold in the individual all-around event with a score of 83.650. Her state teammate Shubhashree Singamore took silver, while Delhi’s Rachel Deep won bronze.

Parina said, “I’m satisfied with my performance, and I thank Khelo India for organising these games. The arrangements here, especially the food, were excellent.”
