Muzaffarpur: Muzaffarpur will take on Patna in final of 13th Hockey Bihar Sub-Junior Men’s State Level Hockey Tournament. In the first semi-final at Khudi Ram Boss Stadium in Muzaffarpur, hosts Muzaffarpur defeated Saharsa 6-0 and Patna defeated Khagaria 3-1 in the second semi-final on Wednesday.
For Muzaffarpur, Ajay Kushwaha scored the first hat-trick of the tournament by scoring three consecutive field goals in the 11th, 21st and 22nd minutes. Amarendra Kumar scored the fourth goal in the 26th minute from the penalty corner and Alok Kumar Singh scored the fifth goal in the 29th minute from the penalty corner. In the 53rd minute, Chhotu Kumar scored the 6th goal with a penalty stroke (6-0).
Earlier, Muzaffarpur defeated Buxar 7-0 in the quarter finals.
In the second semi-final, Patna defeated Khagaria 3-1. Ritik Kumar of Khagaria scored a field goal in the 4th minute of the game to take a 1-0 lead. Patna had to struggle a lot to win. In the 37th and 46th minutes of the game, Ranjan Kumar put Patna into lead through penalty corner. The third goal for Patna came in the 53rd minute of the game when Rajesh Kumar found the target. Earlier, Patna team Lakhisarai 3-0 in the quarter-finals.
