Patna, August 3: State-Level School Subroto Mukerjee Football Girls Under 17 Selection Tournament organised by Patna district administration under the aegis of art,culture and youth department and Sports Development Authority of Bihar, began at Patliputra Sports Complex here on Tuesday.
At the end of the first day’s matches, Muzaffarpur, Siwan, Munger and West Champaran (Bettiah) entered the semifinals. In the day’s first match, Kaimur beat Khagaria 4-0 while in the second match Katihar thrashed Kishanganj 5-0.
In the other matches Jamui beat Arwal 4-0; West Champaran beat Darbhanga 2-0; Munger beat Katihar 1-0; Muzaffarpur beat Jamui 1-0; Siwan beat Kaimur 4-0.
Earlier, Pankaj Kumar Raj, director-cum-secretary of, Sports Development Authority of Bihar inaugurated the tournament. District sports officer, Patna-cum-organising secretary, Om Prakash and Rajendra Kumar, sports executive, Sports Development Authority of Bihar, asked the players to perform excellently and bring laurels to the state and the country.
Ravi Shankar Kumar, Harendra Yadav, Mithlesh Kumar, Shashi Kumar Suman, Arun Hasda and Mohan Kumar were the referees for the matches. On this occasion, Nand Kishor Prasad, former SAI instructor,. Abhishek Kumar, trainer athletics, Mukesh Kumar Srivastava, Kiran Kumar Jha, Niraj Kumar, Surya Kant, Afzal Alam, Dhirendra Kumar and Ramesh Kumar and all deputed teachers and sports lovers were present.
